You've Got Dead On You

I love my podcasts. I subscribe to more than I usually have time to listen to, but I’m always on the lookout for good ones. Anyone who’s an engineer, designer or spends large amounts of time in front of a PC can appreciate how listening to podcasts can make the day fly by, especially when you’re in that “designing zone” and don’t get up for hours at a time. God, I love being a corporate tool.

So a few weeks ago, I discovered the @DeadonYou guys via twitter. Now it’s no secret that I’m a sucker for anything horror, much less anything zombie related. Wandering over to their blog, I read this:

In a world gone mad, there are two men, nay heroes, who have decided to face the zombie apocalypse with zest, heroism, cowardice and one-liners. Join them as they navigate through a zombie world in, “You’ve Got Dead On You”.

Well, I’m sold.

The first thing you should know is this isn’t a “typical” horror podcast – it’s not a bunch of people discussing their opinions on latest horror offerings. If I had to describe it, it’s in the style of shows from the golden age of radio – it’s a comedic story of two average guys stuck in the beginnings of a zombie apocalypse. I knew I was in for a great time when a few minutes into episode one, they were congratulating themselves on the irony of bludgeoning their zombie neighbor’s head in with a copy of “Pride, Prejudice & Zombies”.

There’s currently 9 episodes available for download, each continuing the story further, & run about 10 minutes each. They’re produced well, & released about a week apart (give or take). It’s good, campy fun, and you’ll definitely have a good time with this. Craig also does an amazing rendition of Freebird, and wants everyone to know he’s available for weddings, birthdays & bar mitzvahs.

You can listen to these via their blog, or download them via the iTunes store. I’m not sure if it’s available via the Zune Marketplace, so follow them on twitter and ask
